Remodeling and Repairs

remodeling and Repairs

These projects were something that we were hoping to get done last year, but that didn't happen. First, these projects have been funded through the generosity of a few donors. We are very grateful to you for helping make all of this happen.

Workers for this week are Michael Jones, Bill Hrovat, and Mike Sauer. We are super grateful to each of them for the time they are taking out of their schedules to come and help us out.

So what are we doing? We needed repairs on the shed roof to prevent water leaks, the stove fan needed to be reinstalled and the fan lid moved, the roof reinforced where the furnace stack comes out, large bird nests removed from the attic and a screen put up to prevent them from coming back in, and several outlets were reworked.

In addition, they have removed our stage, laying new tile, and they are creating shelving units, which will eventually look like cabinets, with countertops, to store all of our books, games, materials and more. It is very efficient as it uses totes for storage versus using a standard cabinet. It is also more cost effective. Here is a short video on what has been done so far and more will be coming tomorrow.
